Apple iPhone

Wow ! Amazing Stuff

Apple Introduces iPhone, the next generation digital device with a video iPod, Cell Phone and Internet Device all in a single device. Just saw Steve Jobs keynote and demostration of iPhone at MacWorld 2007, seems really amazing and I can’t wait to get one when it becomes available.

One thing I still need to check is the extensibility available in the device, they say it runs OS X, so can i put my custom apps developed for OS X on the device and play around, that would be kinda cool.

The HTML browser and Google Maps which he showed on the device were really amazing. I personally think iPhone is definately going to get its share in the cell phone market but they may face a little set back becuase of the cost, not everyone will be willing to pay $500 but as the cost drops, this thing is definately going to become mainstream. However, I dont think that by the time apple brings the price down, other competitors are gonna sit quitely and watch them. Microsoft is not going to sit quitely and let apple soar, as we have seen earlier with the introduction of Zune and I guess Nokia, Sony Eric and other big players of the cell phone industry would’nt let apply grab thier market that easily. Anyway Zune is not going to get even near to iPod in competition and similarly it will take something extraordinary from Microsoft and any other company to catch iPhone.

From the consumer perspective, this entire thing is a great news becuase prices are going to come down and technology is definately going to improve.

Apple is really an innovator, first they created the entire iPod industry and now they have introduced a completely new device industry. BTW if anyone wants to watch the keynote, it is available on youtube. Its a 12 part video
